Overview
Say You Will is Fleetwood Mac’s 17th studio album and their first since 1971’s Future Games without keyboardist and singer-songwriter Christine McVie credited as an official band member. However, McVie still provides backing vocals on “Bleed to Love Her” and “Steal Your Heart Away.” The 18-track album was written by the remaining band songwriters, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.
Release & Commercial Performance
Reprise Records released Say You Will on April 15, 2003. It debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, supported by the lead singles “Peacekeeper” (which reached #80 on the Hot 100 and peaked on the Adult Contemporary chart) and “Say You Will” (which reached #17 on the Adult Contemporary chart). Promotional singles “Running Through the Garden,” “Thrown Down,” and “Steal Your Heart Away” were also issued, though none gained significant radio traction.
To boost promotion, Reprise issued a deluxe edition packaged in a book format, featuring a poster and a bonus CD with four extra tracks. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album Gold in July 2003 for shipping 500,000 units. By June 2013, it had sold over 733,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
