In the August edition of Mojo, Stevie Nicks, 76, revealed that Fleetwood Mac can’t continue without the late Christine McVie. “Without Christine, no can do,” she said. “There’s no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”
Founding member Mick Fleetwood, who celebrates his 77th birthday on Monday, had similar feelings about the status of the band. “I think right now, I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris (McVie),” Fleetwood explained to the Los Angeles Times in 2023. “I’d say we’re done, but then we’ve all said that before. It’s sort of unthinkable right now.”
The classic 1975 Fleetwood Mac lineup reunited for a world tour in 2014 but hadn’t recorded a studio album together since 1987’s Tango in the Night.
